Based on the south coast of England, Pete lives with his wife Nicola and two daughters, Olivia and Summer. They moved to the seaside town of Eastbourne in June 2014 after living in Sheffield for over 12 years. It was in Sheffield that Pete served as Worship Director for St Thomas Church Philadelphia, and Nicola launched her company (www.nicola-james.com). He dedicates his time to songwriting, coaching and leading worship across the UK and abroad. Events he has played at include New Wine, Spring Harvest, Creation Fest, Big Church Day Out and Mission Worship. His role in the local church, combined with periods of touring, has given Pete expertise in establishing a thriving worship culture within churches. He frequently passes on his experiences through coaching days and seminars. He and his family have made their home where two worlds converge; the world of rolling hills, sea views and holidaymakers, and the world of the poor, homeless and addicted.
Pete’s song Jesus Loves Me, and new take on the hymn What A Friend We Have In Jesus, have both featured on BBC One’s Songs Of Praise. Pete has lent his voice and lyrics to a number of charities for specific projects. Whether it is feeding the homeless in his local town, or supporting those who bring justice and hope to the most oppressed in other nations, he feels there is a responsibility with the tool he has been given. Pete is a songsmith and worship leader with a global heartbeat. Creation provides a great source of inspiration for Pete. Both the sea and the Sussex Downs on his doorstep feed his writing and his appetite for water sports and biking.
